You Are Not A Plumber!

*NOTE* All scripture quotations taken from The Scriptures 1998+ unless otherwise noted.

Some people know how to sweat copper pipe together but that doesn’t make them a plumber.

Most people could put paint on a wall but it doesn’t make them a painter.

Many people know how to write but it doesn’t make them a writer.

Many people know some scriptures and go to church but they’re not born again!

To be born again means to follow Messiah and do the things he did and taught. He told us that if we love him to keep his commandments. Yet so many haven’t even learned to keep the first commandment, without that first in your life it shows you are not born again.

When a persons words are filled with hostility you can see they are not born again, they run others down and stir up strife, this is the work of Ha Satan, not of Elohim.

By their fruits you shall know them. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Matt 7:16

But whoring and all uncleanness, or greed of gain, let it not even be named among you, as is proper among set-apart ones – neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather thanksgiving. Ephesians 5:3,4

And by this we know that we know Him, if we guard His commands. The one who says, “I know Him,” and does not guard His commands, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever guards His Word, truly the love of Elohim has been perfected1 in him. By this we know that we are in Him. 1 John 2:3-5

I’ve asked some people if they believe we are to still keep the commandments and usually they say yes. So I ask them why they disregard the fourth commandment if that’s the case? They usually come up with an excuse but no valid reason for breaking the Sabbath (7th day of the week and to keep it holy).

Remember the Sabbath day, to set it apart. Exodus 20:8

Some say the commandments and the Torah have been done away with. But Messiah says they are not. He knew already that some people would think that he came to abolish Torah, but he instead came to fulfill (complete) it and not do away with it.

Do not think that I came to destroy the Torah or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to complete. For truly, I say to you, till the heaven and the earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall by no means pass from the Torah till all be done. Whoever, then, breaks one of the least of these commands, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the reign of the heavens; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the reign of the heavens. For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees,1 you shall by no means enter into the reign of the heavens. Matthew 5:17-20

Heaven and earth are still here! Remember what John told us: And by this we know that we know Him, if we guard His commands. 1 John 2:3

If I speak with the tongues of men and of messengers, but do not have love, I have become as sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophecy, and know all secrets and all knowledge, and if I have all belief, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am none at all. And if I give out all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but do not have love, I am not profited at all. Love is patient, is kind, love does not envy, love does not boast, is not puffed up, does not behave indecently, does not seek its own, is not provoked, reckons not the evil, does not rejoice over the unrighteousness, but rejoices in the truth, it covers all, believes all, expects all, endures all. 1 Corinthians 13:1-7

Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brothers, this should not be so. Does the fountain send forth the sweet and the bitter from the same opening? My brothers, is a fig tree able to bear olives, or a grapevine figs? So neither is a fountain able to make salt and sweet water. James 3:10-12

And you were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the ruler of the authority of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once lived in the lusts of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, as also the rest. But Elohim, who is rich in compassion, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Messiah – by favour you have been saved – and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenlies in Messiah יהושע, in order to show in the coming ages the exceeding riches of His favour in kindness toward us in Messiah יהושע. For by favour you have been saved, through belief, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of Elohim, it is not by works, so that no one should boast.
For we are His workmanship, created in Messiah יהושע unto good works, which Elohim prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 2:1-10

Messiah told us as is recorded in John 3:7, “Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You have to be born from above.” And in John 3:3, “יהושע answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born from above, he is unable to see1 the reign of Elohim.” In other words, being born again is infinitely serious. Heaven and hell are hanging in the balance. We will not see the kingdom of God unless we are born again.

You can be dead while you are alive. Yes, the walking dead. Those who walk this earth, breathing, talking, working, but do not have life. They are not born again because firstly they don’t know Messiah. They may claim to love him, but if they are not obeying him (keeping Sabbath, his commandments, etc.) they are liars as John points out to us.

The one who says, “I know Him,” and does not guard His commands, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 1 John 2:4

Salvation isn’t about what most will teach you when they say, just ask “Jesus” into your heart, say the sinners prayer. Salvation is about first repenting of all your sin. It’s about picking up your cross and following Yeshua, doing as he did and commanded us to do.

And He said to them all, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his stake daily, and follow Me. For whoever wishes to save his life shall lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake shall save it. For what is a man profited if he gains all the world, and is himself destroyed or lost? For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, of him the Son of Aḏam shall be ashamed when He comes in His esteem, and in His Father’s, and of the set-apart messengers. Luke 9:23-26

Not many have actually laid down their lives. Their lives have changed slightly, but they still follow the ways of the world thinking that just because they go to church now and say amen or amein and other words they learned there that they are on their way.

However, the solid foundation of Elohim stands firm, having this seal, “יהוה knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the Name of Messiah turn away from unrighteous-ness.” But in a large house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some unto value and some unto no value. If, then, anyone cleanses himself from these matters, he shall be a vessel unto value, having been set apart, of good use to the Master, having been prepared for every good work. 2 Timothy 2:19-21

To be born again, you must REPENT of your sins and BELIEVE on Yeshua the Messiah and OBEY his word.

REPENT means to feel or express sincere regret or remorse about one’s wrong doing or sin.

BELIEVE means believing that Yeshua died for your sins, was buried and rose on the third day and you have accepted his sacrifice for you.

OBEY means doing what Yeshua tells us in his word and guarding (obeying) his commandments. James says the devils believe and tremble–saving belief is more than acknowledging that the doctrines of the Lord are true. You must obey his word.

So יהושע said to those Yehuḏim (Jews or Taught Ones) who believed Him, “If you stay in My Word, you are truly My taught ones, and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:31,32
