Those Who Reject the Prophets

*NOTE: Scripture passages taken from The Scriptures 1998+ unless otherwise noted.

For I delight in kindness and not slaughtering, and in the knowledge of Elohim more than burnt offerings. But like Aḏam they transgressed the covenant. There they acted treacherously against Me.
Hosea 6:6,7

Hosea shows us what Elohim’s doctrine was aimed at, that they should unite the obedience of Elohim, and the love of their neighbour, with outward sacrifices.

See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in all circumstances give thanks, for this is the desire of Elohim in Messiah יהושע for you. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies, prove them all. Hold fast what is good. Keep back from every form of wickedness. And the Elohim of peace Himself set you completely apart, and your entire spirit, and being, and body – be preserved blameless at the coming of our Master יהושע Messiah!
1 Thessalonians 5:15-23

Those who disobey Messiah also reject the Prophets. If they don’t receive the obedience Messiah showed, they won’t receive his prophets either. Their eye is filled with evil and not good. They tear down and do not build up. They don’t even recognize a prophet when they come in contact with one.

They don’t trust the word of the Prophets because they don’t know the Father. Had they known the Father they would receive his servants. But because they reject his servants the Prophets they also reject him.

Yerushalayim, Yerushalayim, killing the prophets and stoning those who are sent to her! How often I wished to gather your children together, the way a hen gathers her chickens under her wings, but you would not! Matthew 23:37
