Should We Vote?

*NOTE* All scripture quotations taken from The Scriptures 1998+ unless otherwise noted.

We are in the world but not of the world if we follow Yeshua (Jesus) the Messiah. To follow him means to do the things he did and not to do the things he did not do or teach us to do.

I’m not a political man, but I will defend what is right. And even though I hold no place in political parties of this US of A, I do serve the highest power in the universe which places me in subservience to the sovereigns of this world. Just as Yeshua Messiah, the King of kings and Lord of lords came into this world and submitted himself to the powers of this world, so ought we who serve him. It’s obvious that Donald J Trump’s victory is more than just a national victory but one that will affect other nations and re-establish lost foreign relations, it’s a unique win in that because Mr Trump has enough money that he cannot be bought. And many count this as unique and commend him for this. However, I want to introduce you to another greater than he. In this world it’s easy for a man flowing with money not to be bought with money. But when a man is poor and cannot be bought with money, this is noteworthy with Elohim. I want to introduce you to one such man. The man Yeshua Messiah, perfect in every way and the only man born of a virgin. The only man worthy of our worship and adoration. Several years ago as I considered the fact that I have never voted or had been involved in politics, I began exploring to know if I should in fact be involved since stimuli from this world would have us believe it is our civil duty. I read about political parties, I read about in the beginning of this country there weren’t any political parties at all, etc. etc. But when I focused on my Rabbi (Yeshua) I came to realize I am a sojourner in this land just as he was because I serve him. I learned that in serving him I am not tied to the things of this world and his word teaches me not to be involved in the affairs of this life. 2 Timothy 2:4 No one serving as a soldier gets involved in the affairs of this life, in order to please only him who enlisted him as a soldier. Yeshua never voted, neither did his disciples. In fact they were persecuted by the government. They served the eternal government. They were truly set apart. I realized that since I was born a citizen of the USA that I could not go to Germany and vote since I do not have citizenship there. While I am in Germany or any country outside of the USA, unless I have dual citizenship, I am sojourner in that other country. When I gave my life to Yeshua and was grafted into the vine, I became Yisrael. I gave up my citizenship in this world and in the USA. I am now an eternal citizen of the New Yerushalayim. Scripture tells us we are in the world, but not of the world. John 17:15 “I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You keep them from the wicked one. John 17:16 “They are not of the world, as I am not of the world. Torah shows us that even if we could vote that we are to vote for one who keeps the Torah of Elohim. And this instruction was for the nation of Yisrael. Deuteronomy 17:15 you shall certainly set a sovereign over you whom יהוה your Elohim shall choose. Set a sovereign over you from among your brothers, you are not allowed to set a foreigner over you, who is not your brother.
